Everyone within the sport is very conscious of the need to reduce costs, costs to the crews, the marshals and to the organisers , so following on from the very successful introduction of a one day 85 stage mile concept in 2018 we are running a very similar format in 2019. Friday will see a 08:00 recce, finishing early afternoon, followed by a shakedown very close to the final recce stage.
All documentation will be Friday afternoon/ evening. The ceremonial start on Saturday morning will again be held in the Carlisle Pirelli factory, this being the 50th anniversary of Pirelli producing tyres in Carlisle, there are plans to have a great start.
The route is very compact with four stages run twice (85 stage miles) the shortest stage being 7 miles with two runs at a 16 miler. All servicing will be held within the forest complex, so the rally is run within a five hour time period, allowing crews to leave on Saturday evening if they wish. Kielder forest provides challenging fast stages, but most importantly they are great fun to drive, come and have a go, you will love it.
