On 8th September 2019, the Aberystwyth-based Get Connected Rali Bae Ceredigion became the first ever closed road stage rally held in Wales – and to this day, is still the only one of its kind. It would be fair to say the event surpassed expectations, running on schedule, captivating audiences, praised by competitors, enjoyed by marshals and delivering everything it set out to do.
Carrying over the features that proved so popular in 2019 and building on the event’s success, organisers have used the opportunity of an enforced two-year sabbatical to their advantage. As such, the uplift in activity for 2022 sees the event become a round of the British Rally Championship, Celtic Trophy and Protyre Asphalt Rally Championship.
Now a two-day affair, the 2022 rally features a compact route comprising 93 stage miles and 85 road miles. Four stages are planned on Saturday evening with Sunday seeing a further nine stages on roads over the Cambrian Mountains that are undeniably some of the most enjoyable to drive in the UK.
The event also features a showcase scrutineering, start, finish and service area in Aberystwyth. Plus, with spectator facilities, family entertainment and far-reaching PR and media activity, large crowds are expected over the course of the weekend.
Entries will open in the spring. Early application is strongly advised.
