In 2017 the BRC ventured outside the UK border for the first time in its history with an enormously successful visit to the Flanders region of Belgium and the famous Ypres Rally. An event that boasts and almost equal amount of special stages kilometres to road sections, such is its compact nature. As well as one of the best service parks in the world – based around the Grote Markt surrounded by street restaurants and bars.
To let the BRC crews who contested the 2017 event use the experience gained, the 2018 route contains the same special stages to give a total distance of 160 competitive miles. Only one new stage is added to the June itinerary.
