Mains means business with National Rally Title chase

William Mains will contest his maiden National Rally Title in 2022, bringing his rapid Vauxhall Nova to the series.

The Llandysul driver will tackle the series catering for non-homologated machinery which runs alongside the British Rally Championship with seven all-action rounds on offer throughout the season.

The mixture of both asphalt and gravel events in the BRC calendar has drawn Mains to the series in his rapid 1398cc Vauxhall but will be experimenting with a gravel surface having been on a sealed surface for much of his competitive career.

Having progressed from Road Rallying, Mains has scooped some impressive results in the distinctive machine, with third overall at Pembrey a highlight. He is also a two-time class winner in the National Asphalt Rally Championship in 2019 and 2020 and is looking for some “giant killing performances” this season as he joins the BRC tour.

The opening round of the season kicks off in Essex with the Corbeau Seats Rally Tendring & Clacton at the end of April.
